What is the power tab?

The power tab helps homeowners discover that living sustainably can start as easily as turning off a light. This easy to use device promotes energy awareness by telling consumers how much energy their home uses, and encourages sustainability through the reduction of energy waste.

What features do the power tabs have?

  1. Magnetic backing
  2. Rechargeable battery
  3. Consumption light indicator, based on electricity usage
    1. Green Light = Below average consumption
    2. Yellow Light = Average consumption
    3. Red = Above average consumption

Please explain average consumption?

Your display tracks your suites specific usage and will provide an LED indication as to how you compare to last month’s electrical consumption in your suite. Cold water, hot water, heating and cooling will also display the previous month’s consumption and your current volume of consumption.

What displays will be shown on my power tab?

 

  1. Electricity will show the approximate current usage and the estimated cost in kWh.   (Standard unit of electricity or consumption equal to 1000 watts over one hour)
  2. Heating will show the estimated tab of approximate usage in kWh
  1. Cooling will show the estimated tab of approximate usage in kWh.
  2. Hot water will show the estimated tab of approximate litres consumed.
  3. Cold water will show the estimated tab of approximate litres consumed.

How long will my battery last?

When you first move into your suite the power tab should be placed into its wall mount for at least 8 hours in order to ensure full charge.

The battery should last 24 to 48 hours depending on how much you use it while it is off its mount.

Will my bill match the information on my display?

No, your display provides an estimated tab for your consumption and bills may vary when compared to your display data.

What happens if I break my display?

Whose name is the energy account to be set up in?

      Legal name of the owner of the suite.

What if I have a renter?

     The name on the account remains in the legal name of the owner of the suite.  However, the   

     Renters name can be added as “care of” (c/o)

Can my renter sign up for Pre-Authorized payments?

     Yes. The renters name will then be added onto the account as “care of”.

What date do I enter as the start date for energy services?

     The start date for energy services is the closing date of sale on the unit.

Who do I contact if I my suites utilities are not functioning properly?
